Overview

To coordinate and manage sourcing for raw material commodities for all facilities. Negotiate corporate price agreements for raw materials and source new vendors, materials, and technology for continuous improvement of facilities, processes, and compounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement designated commodity strategies across all HCA site
• Establish and coordinate national pricing agreements; manage consistent pricing and drive cost savings projects for all North America (NA) campuses.
• Monitor vendor activity and relationship with NA campuses.
• Coordinate problem-solving efforts between the user and supplier when quality or service problems arise; investigate and clarify facts of problems and communicate with all parties to achieve a mutually satisfactory solution.
• Provide assistance to corporate teams and initiatives providing purchasing expertise.
• Maintain accurate pricing database for use by all NA campuses. Oversee timely price updates done by all sites.
• Manage all aspects of select commodities, including but not limited to allocation, pricing, payment and delivery terms and approved vendor selection.
• Facilitate new product and supplier approvals.
• Support vendor performance management activities
• Support vendor sustainability activities across all HCA sites.
• Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.

• Travel Requirement up to 15%-20%

 

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or Rubber Engineering Technology preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Seven (7) years of leadership experience in technical position, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Five (5) years of buying and negotiating experience in the rubber/polymers industry.
• Proven negotiation and project management skills with a written process for approving new raw materials
• Understanding of development lab processes with knowledge of rubber compounding across all polymer types and chemistries.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and standards.
• Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient computer/systems skills – MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
• Solid organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines and manage a broad range of responsibilities.
• High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated, self-reliant.
• Ability to interact well with all personality types.
• Strong cooperation, collaboration, and team-building skills.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
