Overview

To set up, design, test and support the functional computer control systems for manufacturing and equipment design maintaining production efficiently and optimally.

Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate and implement repair, upgrades, and installation of facility equipment.
  • Responsible for installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
  • Design and develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Integrate production equipment into internally supported operations system (Spectrum.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot, develop, and maintain PLC programs on various platforms.
  • Maintain programs and control VFD's via PLC controls, as needed.
  • Ability to perform maintenance inspections, system design recommendations, and repairs on electrical controls systems.
  • Read electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Available for site on an on-call basis.
  • Assist with projects to support the Project Program Engineers, as needed.
  • Travel to other HEXPOL locations may be required.
  • Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering.  Bachelor''s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. (Technical degree with Mechanical or Electrical Engineering concentration). Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in Electrical engineering required.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of technical aspects of electrical engineering and design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer/systems skills - MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Basic working knowledge of CMMS systems and E-maintenance preferred.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and works well with minimal on-location direction.
  • Ability to work alone or with others depending on the task but always willing to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cooperation, collaboration, and team-building skills.
  • Solid organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and manage a broad range of responsibilities.
  • High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant.
  • Ability to interact well with all personality types.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
