Overview

The Finance Intern will support the Finance and Accounting team with a variety of core financial activities while gaining hands-on exposure to operational finance in a manufacturing environment. This role is designed for a student interested in developing foundational accounting and finance skills, with opportunities to support real business initiatives and projects.

 

The internship will focus on general accounting support, including accounts payable and receivable processes, journal entries, and month-end activities. The intern will also assist the team with key projects, including the implementation of a new ERP system, helping to provide additional bandwidth during a period of organizational transformation.

 

Internship Details

  • Location: Burton, Ohio (on-site)
  • Duration: Approximately 10–12 weeks (summer)
  • Schedule: Full-time preferred
  • Compensation: Paid internship
  • Mentorship: Direct support from the Finance and Accounting leadership team

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with general accounting activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Helping with month-end close activities and financial reporting tasks
  • Assisting with banking, customer invoicing, and payment processing
  • Supporting the Finance team during the transition to a new ERP system (IFS Cloud)
  • Helping document processes and procedures related to accounting and finance operations
  • Providing administrative and analytical support to the Controlling and Accounting functions
  • Partnering with site finance and plant leadership to gain exposure to operational finance
  • Assisting with special projects
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned based on business priorities

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong interest in learning operational and manufacturing finance
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
